چکیده
Rational exponential integrators (REXI) are a class of numerical methods that well suited for the time integration linear partial differential equations with imaginary eigenvalues. Since these can be parallelized in (in addition to spatial parallelization is commonly performed) they exploit modern high performance computing systems. In this paper, we propose novel REXI scheme drastically improves accuracy and efficiency. The chosen approach will also allow us easily determine how many terms required approximation order obtain accurate results. We provide comparative simulations shallow water equation highlight efficiency our demonstrate schemes efficiently implemented on graphic processing units.

An exponential integrator for a highly oscillatory Vlasov equation
In the framework of a Particle-In-Cell scheme for some 1D Vlasov-Poisson system depending on a small parameter, we propose a time-stepping method which is numerically uniformly accurate when the parameter goes to zero. Based on an exponential time differencing approach, the scheme is able to use large time steps with respect to the typical size of the fast oscillations of the solution.

متن کاملTime-parallel methods for massively parallel solution of PDEs
Todays fastest supercomputers already feature more than a million cores and this number is expected to rise beyond 100 million over the next decade. Because at the same time frequencies of individual processors remain constant or even decrease for reasons of efficiency, developers are increasingly confronted with the fact that accelerating numerical (but also other) codes necessarily requires t...
